Bread Omelet Recipe

A quick breakfast/snack recipe using bread slices and eggs. Takes no time to prepare.

Preparation time: 5 min

Cooking time: 10 min

Serves: 2

Ingredients

  • Bread slices – 4

  • Eggs – 3

  • Onion – 1 (finely chopped)(optional)

  • Green Chili – 1 (finely chopped)

  • Salt – to taste

  • ¼ tsp Butter – for toasting (optional)

  • Turmeric Powder – ¼ tsp (optional)

  • Red Chili Powder – 1 tsp (optional)

  • Dhaniya(Coriander Leaves) – 2 tbsp (finely chopped)(optional)

  • Finely chopped Veggies like Capsicum, Tomato(optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Break the eggs into a bowl and beat it nicely with 1 tbsp of water till it is frothy.

  2. Add finely chopped onions, green chilies, salt and mix it.

  3. Heat a wide pan on medium low heat. Grease it with some butter/oil and pour the egg mixture and spread it.

  4. Immediately, place a slice of bread over the egg mixture on the left side and another on the right)

5. Cook for about 30 sec. Using a wide spatula, gently flip the eggs along with the bread slices. Now the bread slices will touch the bottom of the pan.

6. Cook for another 30-40 seconds will the bread is crisp and toasted. Fold the egg such that one bread is over the other and the omelet is in between.

7. Serve with a tomato ketchup sauce or green chutney.
